The folks of the Northern Virginia (NoVA) Browncoats chapter have invited me to attend the 'Can't Stop the Serenity' screening this Saturday, June 21 at 5:00 PM at the Arlington Cinema Draft House in (you guessed it) Arlington, VA.
I myself will be there around 4:00 PM with pumpkin seeds in tow to meet and greet anybody who wants to say 'hello' or have any comic books or artwork signed.
I won't be able to stay for the entire screening as pumpkin seeds tend to be frightened of darkened theaters filled with pitchers of spud and raucous fans watching great science fiction, hootin' ana hollerin'.
For those living a uni-bomber existence and don't know, the screening and its proceeds are for the charity Equality Now whose mission is to "end violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world through the mobilization of public pressure."
To do my part, I'm attending and have donated a print of one of my 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' cover paintings to auction off. It's a 'Faith' cover and it's signed by me, Joss and Eliza D. who were way too cool to take the time in the middle of the Doll House production! Here is a facsimile of the signed piece.
Come one, come all. See you there! |
